Hi Mike, Yes my FR-S throw-out bearing rattles occasionally. (My car now has 4400 miles). The bearing was rattling today while idling the engine, I blip the throttle and when the RPM's drop to about 500 you can hear the rattling (and the bearing). I had a similar issue on my 13 BRZ. It made a screech noise when pressing the clutch and at times felt like a crunch. This was about 20k miles while the vehicle was still under bumper to bumper 3yr/36k mile warranty so it was covered. Don't think the powertrain would cover that since that is usually only for 'internally lubricated' components (interpret that as you may).
Just saying that brings back bad memories from my old days working in the auto warranty biz.Depending on your plans down the line for modifications, it might be smart to install a performance clutch while they're in there.
